I had the chance to attend this awards night in support for my MIT colleagues awardee.
Thanks to my friend, Jew for the dress that people loved! I did my own hair and make up and I used the shoes I last wore on my College Graduation Day. I just seized the moment basically to just dress up. (:
I had fun with my colleagues and the awardees are such an inspiration! One day it would be my time too.
Cheers to life and success!
One of the highlights of 2013 at work would be our Department’s Townhall for third quarter that was hosted by my team. Every quarter, different teams host the event. It was a highlight for me because my team received quite a number of commendations after the event and some even said that we have set the standard high. In short, we really made it bongga! (:
The theme of the event was Hollywood. Two balloon towers, posters, email blasts for invitation and mini games, kalokalike game for the event, mini cupcakes for the attendees as they arrive, personalized frames for the awardees, newbies awesome performance, Kenny Roger’s for the meal after the townhall (which was new because we got a way higher budget this time) and so much more. And the biggest highlight would be… Me, hosting the event. (:
It was really a success!
The team behind the event. All efforts paid off!
After my Tagaytay bonding with awesome superfriends, I headed to work straight again even on a Sunday. We’re asked to do some overtime for tax checks that lasted till the day after, about 9am of Monday. Surprisingly, it was raining very hard and there are school suspensions already due to the floods but still I opted to go home to quickly change before going back to work again after a few hours. Work shift starts at 9pm but we’re asked to go back in the afternoon to continue the project. So I did and I brought some clothes considering it might demand more time and I won’t be able to go back home. Since we lack sleep, the company was so nice to get us a room at Mandarin Hotel where we can get naps (though we have lounges at work). And that is valuing people. Fortunately or unfortunately rather, we had to stay for two more night at Mandarin due to the monsoon that brought too much rain which caused flooding in most areas here in the Metro. And since we’re just nearby, we still do report to work and all of our meals are cared of too. It was certainly the time I felt so blessed for all those comforts. Seeing how people suffer due to the calamity is just hard.
Anyway, of course as Filipinos we all do squeeze fun despite anything the challenges us.
And I share you some photos. (:
Chad and I bugs everyone in the team for some photo opt.
Day 1 roomie is Ai.
Day 2 roomies – Ai and Mommy.
Day 3 roomie is Shelbie.
Room 428 will definitely have a special place in my heart. (:
Breakfast at Paseo Uno. I love those lilies!
My whole team complete for days despite the BCP and all that jazz. We all had to go shopping for clothes already. We’re so bonded afterwards.
One major learning for us is to take BCP clothes and stuff seriously. And we do appreciated how we were taken care of.
I knew I did a good move.
I’ve been binging a lot my new work has started because my work peeps do love eating too! Thank goodness they’re game for some run too after working (and that’s in the morning). I hope our morning runs would be regular. And maybe I could join them in playing badminton on Wednesdays.
In Thursday, we had dinner at Kanin Club for a joint celebration of She’s birthday and my first blood. I love Filipino restaurants that make me love Filipino dishes even more. And Kanin Club is surely one.
Yesterday, a few of my workmates and I ate breakfast (or maybe it should be dinner for us?) at Pancake House. It would always be my favorite since I do have a huge love for pancakes. I seriously almost died of laughing. These people are awesomely crazy! Hope things remain the same. Please people don’t change.
The star of the morning is this: Key Lime Pancake. It has meringue on top to mix it’s sweetness with the lime. I don’t miss to order Pancake House’ limited pancakes. I so wish though they put their Red Velvet Pancakes on their regular menu.
On to my fourth week and I’m looking forward to more pig outs with these people. And of course to offset it, more running and stuff too.
I started on boarding on my first job on July first.
Then I get to see my work desk on the second day.
It’s not my first time to meet my team though. A month before I started, I already joined them in their team building. It was a first time for me to hangout with people whom I’ll just be meeting for the first time overnight. I’m glad I took the risk. I had so much fun!
We had a fun scorching hot field trip at Ocean Adventure. Then we went to the house that we rented and did some grocery for our dinner and breakfast for the morning after.
It’s so much fun with them. I find it cool to meet them ahead of time. I do hope work would be a lot better now especially with them. On the plus side, the pay is definitely better. Haha.
There’s a townhall on my last day at work because the head of AsiaPac is visiting us. It was held in our newly renovated workplace in the 47th floor. So there was music and dancing as a surprise for our guests.
This place has brought me so much stress and agony but I have learned a lot and it made me grow. I’m both happy and sad to leave.
I’ll miss these people though. They have been so nice to me.
And I love Dianne for doing my request! She wore a dress for the very first time at work for my last day! (:
And as a goodbye treat for my team, we had dinner at Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle. It’s not my original team anymore. There are two new. Marvin replaced my immediate boss, Ms. Jennie and Jen replaced Marnz. A week after I left, Ben left too and Dianne will be leaving on July. It was not a boycott from our team. It just all came along at the same time. Maybe it was really time for a change.
So this is goodbye for now. I hope our paths cross again in the future. (:
I will miss this view the most.
This is us on our joyride going to The Fort from the office on a Thursday night. It’s my boss’ last week then Marnz will be leaving the next week then Ben and I on the following month then Dianne on the month after us. In short, the whole team is leaving but we’re not boycotting. We didn’t talk about this. We all have different reasons. But on this night, we just hangout and enjoyed each other’s company.
That’s me, Ben, Ms. Jennie, Marnz and Dianne from left to right after binging at Chelsea. I will miss this crazy team and for sure our workmates will miss our craziness too. I’m glad to have them as I start my life in the working arena. I have learned so much and enjoyed at the same time. (Of course disregarding all the stress and sleepless nights. Maybe it does really comes with the growth.)
I wish them success in the path that they’ve chosen now and of course happiness.
Things do change.
